Dr. Olivia Carelli
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Olivia Carelli earned her Psy.D. and M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Carelli primarily treats anxiety and depression in children and adults. Dr. Carelli practices from a relational model and often uses emotion-focused and person-centered interventions. She also incorporates more concrete skills, including the Unified Treatment Protocol, DBT, CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She knows that trust and the therapeutic relationship are the most important aspects of healing. When treating children, Dr. Carelli focuses on helping them develop emotional awareness and emphasizes building self-esteem.
Dr. Carelli also provides care for individuals experiencing eating disorders, PTSD, C-PTSD, Depersonalization/Derealization, and dissociation. For eating disorders, she uses a Health at Every Size approach and communicates with your team: nutritionist, psychiatrist, and general practitioner.
Dr. Carelli completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at The Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders. She was previously the coordinator for the Help Desk at the Sidran Institute for Traumatic Stress, where she directed survivors across the US to competent, trauma-informed care.
Some of Dr. Carelli’s other clinical interests include assessment, group therapy, family therapy, helping teens with body image concerns, and working with sexual and gender minorities.
